About

Think about your favorite jacket, an old pair of boots, or the car you’ve had for 15 years that you just can’t bring yourself to get rid of. You’ll probably keep that jacket until the seams have disintegrated, the boots until they’re wearing through, and the car until its exhaust is dragging on the ground. Objects with significance exist with greater intention and give you more joy in your interactions.

At KEEPER we want to build this kind of meaning into the everyday things in your life, turning something you’ll simply use into something you’ll KEEP. We do this by offering high quality and carefully selected base products, and give the option to customize them into functional pieces of everyday art.

We're a full service old-school style embroidery shop and an event studio specializing in garment customization. The union of Boston based chainstitchers Amelia Fitch and Sam Lee, we use vintage hand-guided chainstitch machines to  decorate garments, accessories and more. After running separate creative practices, we teamed up in the second half of 2024 to launch both the physical store, and create a unique offering for live customization events in and beyond the Boston area.

In the store, you'll find a selection of high quality garments and accessories that can all be customized on one of our vintage chainstitch machines. Basic embellishments like names and a small symbol come included with the purchase, and we'll do it right in front of you in just a few minutes.

Some other things we carry:

  • A rotating selection of clothing (mostly tops and jackets) made from start to finish by Amelia (she's trained as a tailor), often from recycled vintage fabrics.
  • Handmade wallets and accessories made in Sam's leather studio (he's been doing this for 15+ years). Many of these come with free monogramming.
  • More handmade/upcycled clothing and art from our friends in Boston's creative community.
